Who's your 'favorite' artist and why?

Right guys, in aide of keeping this thing rolling I thought I'd start up a "favorite" artist discussion. Seeing as there is a pretty eclectic group of individuals on here hopefully we get some interesting responses.
Pretty much who is your favorite artist and why? When I say artist I mean everything; Painting, Printing, Film, Graphics, Fashion etc.
Please provide images when posting too so we know what your going on about.

I'll go first;

I'd probably say my favorite artist is the Austrian Painter Egon Schiele, I love the way he portrays the human figure as an infected broken character. Although these people in the paintings seem frail and weak I still seem to find something quite beautiful in the way he has painted them. I think I also find his work appealing because he dared to show things how they were, for example his depictions of prostitutes etc; showing them as the desperate/ down-trodden people they were as opposed to the Futurists who made their subject matter better than it was (roughly in the same time period). I think that art should be honest and not manufactured by trying to make something out as something it isn't, I guess that's why I really find his work so appealing... as it shows raw imagery that hasn't been adorned in anyway. Looking at Schiele's work and the themes it explores it led me to so many more artists who do the same and have been a massive influence on my work.
